WHAT MATERIAL IS USED?

ARE THEY ALLERGIC?

925 silver jewelry does not contain nickel.

They do not cause allergies and are considered hypoallergenic jewels, obviously excluding cases in which you are allergic to silver (very rare).

CAN I WEAR 925 SILVER JEWELRY UNDER WATER?

925 Silver jewelry can be safely used even under water, they will have no problems.

We would like to point out that silver can, in some cases, oxidize, become opaque or lose its shine over time. Obviously, it will be enough to clean your jewelry with the appropriate products to make them shine again as before (this part is covered on the “jewelry care” page).

DOES SILVER OXIDIZE?

Silver is a material that, under certain circumstances, can be subject to oxidation.

Oxidation of a silver product occurs when it becomes dark/greenish.

Some circumstances are:

-immersion in water containing sulfur, such as thermal water.

- prolonged “abandonment of the jewel” (after months of disuse, if not stored correctly, the jewel will tend to oxidize. In fact, if silver is not used and remains in contact even with oxygen, it oxidizes.

For this reason, we recommend always keeping it inside the box in which the jewel is shipped.

-Contact with a very acidic skin type. In fact, it can happen that, on some people, the jewel oxidizes simply from prolonged contact with the skin.

Obviously there is no need to worry, in fact a quality of silver is that oxidation disappears without too many problems, in fact it can be treated with various products on the market that are used precisely to eliminate the oxidized layer from the surface of the jewel. You can find them in many points of sale, even in simple supermarkets.

IS THE PLATING DURABLE?

As for gold-plated products, it is clear that the best use you can make of them is to remove them every time you have to go into water, in this way the plating will last longer.

Obviously, products that are more exposed to wear and tear, such as bracelets or rings, will be more likely to lose their plating.

The loss of plating from a piece of jewelry can also vary depending on the pH of the skin and the frequency of use of the piece.
